I've got the Xbox 360 so I can't help with PS2 functionality.
Anything you need to know about IP configuration or wireless networking I should be able to help you with.

I've just bought a laptop and gone wireless at home too. I'll keep my eye on this thread with interest as I'm going to try and get the PS2 online too.

I'm no expert, but this may give you a starting point:

I went wireless a couple of weeks ago, and can I heckaslike get my PSP to connect. The makers of my router reckon that the PSP may not be able to handle the encryption and suggested I turn the security off to try - they didn't tell me how to turn the security off, so I've given up. I presume the PS2 will have similar difficulties.
There is a Wi-Fi stick thing Sony do, but I don't know if its just for PSP.
