leftie

Well missed out on my wednesday club, golf this morning for irritating reasons, but the pro was sympathetic enough to show me the new Wilson Staff spine drivers they had in just got in stock. there was even a leftie one!
Duly demoed it and was very impressed:
First thing is you notice the superb headcover. White leather with a zip up the side, easy to put on and looked great.
Looks wise its a cross between a cobra LD and an fti but its less ugly than both. It comes with a proforce V2 HMOI shaft which is pretty good, felt very smooth and stable, despite it being in regular.
Has quite a noticeably lower, more penetrating flight than I'm used to, with plenty of roll despite the wet fairways, especially for 10.5 degrees, compared to my 440sz, which has the same loft. It flew pretty straight too, and seemed to inspire confidence with the large head shape.
Nice and long, but didn't feel dead unlike a lot of titanium drivers. Yes, it was very forgiving but you knew perfectly well if you'd hit it badly just from the feel.
Quite heavy in comparison to my current driver but was still easy to swing. The alignment aid was again good, not irritating like those I've seen on other clubs.
Most surprising however, was the price. At just £179 in my pro shop, with solid components (proforce V2 shaft and golf pride grip), its definately a club to try out.
4/5 (and may well be bought soon by myself)
