Morning Campers
Just been looking around t'internet and found an offer at Grange Park. Nov-Feb a fourball for £60.
Not got any other setails yet was just trying to drum up some interest before I take it any further.
Obviously this is not strictly open to NW golfers and all are welcome if they want to make the journey!
So roll up, roll up lets get this going before the weather takes a real turn for the worse!;)

Very good course Grange Park. Played a comp there through the Summer. Watch out for the 2nd hole. Made double there, not as much room down the left as it looks from the tee!!

Just checked with Grange Park and the £60 deal is Mon-Fri only...oopps!

They also only let 2 fourballs on per day at these rates!

Get it booked.:)

So we have space for one more. First come first served! Price is £20 each.

Just wondering 'cos if it is I might pop along for the ride - not to play though 'cos I would slow you down (unless anyone needs saving from a bunker ;) )

Fear not, Sham will be there just to make you all look good, all I need now is directions, how much and the golf gods permission to play, I believe its £20 each so will raid the kids piggy bank, and I will return the sleeve of balls I owe you True Blue.:twitcy:

Just spoken to Grange Park and all is confirmed for 26Nov06 at 11am.
They have no restrictions on trolleys and have also advised that at the moment they have two temporary tees and two temporary greens (9 and 18) as they are building new ones.
Apart from that all is okay!
Are we going to meet in the car park at 10:30?
Also, currently we only have 7 people so if anyone knows someone who would like to join us.....otherwise I guess we will just split the cost 7 ways?!?!

Blue Avensis and if he hasn't changed his car Ecclesrec will be in a Beamer.
You can't miss me I am the incredibly good looking oriental fellow. Sham will you have the flat cap on?
it is quite easy to miss the car park but if you are coming from the North it is 100-150 yards past the lights on the right hand side.

Well the weather held and a good day was had by all.
The course was tough and in very good condition for the time of year with just two temp greens.
Nice to meet some new faces and i enjoyed playing four ball with True Blue,Sham and Spanky
The golf was not of a particularly high standard(ok it was dire at times:D ) but this didn't detract from a really good day out.
Looking forward to the next one.
Well done TB for organising duties.:)

Pleasure. Thanks for the company guys, really enjoyed the day, even if the last nine were a bit of a struggle!
Thanks guys for a good day out, I apologise if my braces or flat cap caused offence:smile:
I shall now amend my handicap to one that gives a truer indication of my golfing prowess, what is the maximum I am allowed? and could the R and A make an exception in my case or do I need to have a sex change to qualify?:rolleyesw:
Really enjoyed your company , pity my game couldn't come:madw:

TB, BN, Sham, Thanks for the game fellas, really enjoyed the company & the good crack!:D
Pretty tough course that! esp' when your game decides not to show up! Some very nice (challenging) holes on it.
I thought it was a bit much when someone asked Sham to cover his braces up:eek:
Sham, hope your not suffering to much today with soreness, I know you where hurtin a bit on the home leg!
True Blue
27-11-2006, 12:28 PM
Sham wasn't the only one hurting....my legs are shot!
Message from the other guys:
Thanks for the invite and yes we did enjoy the day. I would like to play the course in the summer.
My brother got round in 84 and my cousin in 92. I however went round and round! New swing and all that.
Sorry we didnt hang around for a drink etc but as we said needed to get back for the game.
Touch wood we can get everyone over to the Marriot at some point next year when its dry.
My cousin is a 28 handicapper but that will be reduced no doubt soon as he is improving.
The weather was great and the conditions underfoot were surprisingly good considering the weather last week.
Thanks again to all and nice to meet the others although briefly.
So looks like we could be on for Worsley Park!:spinny:
Yeah! but do they have a dress code?:eekw:
and just how hilly is it?
Joking aside I would be up for it, I had a good day and look forward to the next time.
sounds great lads - well done for braving the elements!
Presume you're joking with regards Sham's braces......:eekw:

True Blue
27-11-2006, 05:57 PM
And he really did get asked to cover them up by some pompous tw*t (insert I or A at your discretion.)
I can't wear a belt and other than wear trousers that fasten just under the armpit I'm afraid its braces for me.:twitcy:
Nobody laughs at Bobby Ball or Tim Wonnacot or the Cornish Comic JETHRO, OK,OK, not very good examples I grant you but its braces or bare A*SED take your pick:biggrin:
