Actually, I've said to Ben he's made enough progress on the hips -at least for now. Now he needs to concentrate on maintaining a firm left side.

Ask 'im if you don't believe me!

The big mans biggest problem is a lack of any width in his swing which he readly accepts.

But he is a work in progress!! You should have seen him a year ago before he joined somewhere with decent practice facilites!!!!!!!!!

Mind you it must be hard concentrating on your own swing whilst trying to teach everyone else i certainly know my brain would get confused!!!

I'm really surprised by my photo... it actually looks qute good at that stage of the swing... of course a couple of frames later you'd see the chicken wing follow through as I try to avoid turning the face over and hitting it left!

The straight right leg is something I've been working on recently... I've cured the hip movement to the right, but looks like I still need more flex... looks like my weight is on the inside of my right foot (and moving forward) at least. And a bit too much bow in the left wrist too.

Ant, if you want to flirt with Chris, can you keep it private please ;)

To be fair there's a few MG guys with good-looking swings (Chris is one, Foxholer and Vince Baby looked good too). But at the end of the day, the "pro" is the one who, despite his imperfect-looking swing, hits the ball furthest (except for Coopster), straightest and nearest (except for 3PW) virtually every time. I may be wrong here but I think 3PW's swing pic looks better than mine, but I do remember where 3PW's ball went and the shape it took...

I looks like my head is coming up too quickly after striking the ball in my pic. I know it is a still but I would be interested what Lowho things of the position I have(and others if it is not too much trouble). The ball flight was straight on that shot at a good height.

I remember I tried to take on the trees on the corner as one of my partners was in a great position down the fairway. I caught the back of the furthest tree and dropped 20 yards beyond them but in the rough. :(

Finally seen someone with a steeper shoulder angle than mine!

Mine was actually 10 yds above the trees - but finished in the bunker!

Lowho:
Swing was consistent with those I watched pm. Thanks for the 'immortality btw'. You are certainly right about the Purple Ice being a Rocket Launcher too.

On Chris's - the Starter saw that 2-iron off 1 and the tee shot (9-iron?) and putt on 14 and mentioned 'bandit'! I think the SoS (SaS these days) might well be mentioning that word to Ossie (Foxhills's 'cap secy) also.

Discussion with the starter after I'd hit my tee shot on 1...

Starter: "what do you play off, 2?"
Me: "23"
Starter: "Bandit."

Cheeky git.

Hoping to avoid any discussions with Ossie until I've at least won a bloody medal... it's OK having a good looking swing, but it's scoring that matters!

No worries. As I said, I played 18 great holes of golf on Monday. Unfortunately, 14 of them were in the morning scramble and 4 of them were in the afternoon.

I seem to have two distinct levels of play (acceptable and embarassingly bad) - I've yet to learn how to play to the same level throughout a round.

on the point of swings....forget about the swing..its all about the impact position...look at Jim Furyk ... octopus in a telephone box... but great impact position...
