Photos from an eventful day....
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc46/jimmcrae/IMAGE_023.jpg
Dramatic Perthshire skies, people bending over to pick things up - must be berry picking season OR, the great Moongolfer ball retrieval operation.....
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc46/jimmcrae/IMAGE_031.jpg
Chopper returns with a sensible sized basket....
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc46/jimmcrae/IMAGE_034a.jpg
MisterS3, last off of the field and in danger of getting the tractor treatment, confounds the laws of physics by being able to cram so many balls into the basket...
http://i213.photobucket.com/albums/cc46/jimmcrae/IMAGE_035a.jpg
But, miraculously, space for 1 more. Nobody actually checked to see if he had any others in his pockets. I'm assured that this basket is half of Ian's normal range load.
Teams for the day....

Ross, Keve, BigJim and SlicerDude. Keve has just used that driver to smack a ball down the middle of the fairway to who knows where - never to be seen again

BillPoster, RunOnPark and TroonStevie looking calm despite the day's hassles.

And last, but by no means least -

"BigJim, Gord and Chopper arrive first at the range only to find out that you have to get tokens from the pro shop (fortunately we hadn't set off yet). On arrival at the range the tokens were fed into the machine only for it to run out of balls after about 2 baskets. A quick call back to the clubhouse and the pro says "we'll get someone over to fill it in 45 minutes". It's only a small range so everybody agreed that we could all stop hitting balls an go on a ball gathering exercise."
That is pathetic. Hope you got wired in about them Stevie...If it was me, I'd get onto Murrayshall pronto, demand a refund and a complimentary tee time for your trouble. Could you imagine this scenario in, say, Florida / Myrtle Beach ?
"Within the golf centre at Murrayshall we have a state of the art flood-lit driving range for honing your skills before taking on the challenge of the course.
There are 18 individual spacious bays, 11 of which are covered. The large soft play mats and quality two piece balls provide an accurate simulation of real play. The range has 'bunker' targets at 100/150/200 yards and several other cut green flags. At 350 yards long we cater for even the biggest hitters.
Feckin' amateurs.

I don't think i'd take a Complementary tee time if they offered. I got a full refund of the monies paid although I was stuck with an extra £590 on the day for Blairgowrie. I got my money back for the range token the machine swallowed from the pro and I think a couple of others handed the tokens back.
The only good thing about Murrayshall in my opinion is the rather tasty and and prompt service of the baps in the morning( and the bacon rolls weren't bad either:biggrin: ) the money paid for these was refunded also.

Because we could.....
I bet everybody has "retreived" nearby balls from the range at one time. Just so happens that "nearby" was 200 yards this time.
To put it into perspective, there were probably about 9 or 10 people there with no balls at all:p .
In hindsight, I'm glad that we deprived them of £25 of income.
Anyway, their 350 yard range was useless since you couldn't see anything landing 200 yards away.
