Hi,

I've been reading the blog on the build up to the open 2007 at Carnoustie, quite interesting (in terms of the preparation etc required) so I thought I'd share the link here - well I find it intersting, others may find that level of interest sad ;)

It starts with meetings with Hoylake etc. and moves on in more details once Hoylake handed over after they finished.

Of course - being my town I hope it is a success and the course does not get as much grief as last time round.

Here is the link from the start.

My favourite post to date is the tee hut ;)

Cheers,
Ian

Going to have a look it later we are planning to go for the whole week.

Looking at renting a place for the week and playing some local courses.

Can you recommend anywhere?

It's my birthday that week, and I've never been to a golf match so I was thinking of booking a ticket - is it a big hassle for hotels? Are the crowds vast and uncaring? Is it worth going for the whole week or will the family leave me?
