Over the years i have had a club/clubs i couldnt change, so good to me, the trusty one that you can always rely on. Then sell it for the sake of it :(
At the moment, i couldnt change my wedges if i wanted to, so reliable and versatile.
Whats the club you cant seem to shake off?

When i was about 14 (25 years ago)i sold a load of golf balls for £7.50 and bought a putter.
It was my pride and joy and i still use it whenever my putting game goes off.
It gets me back in the groove every time.:)
My trusty Scotty Newport, that's so old and been cleaned so often that it is no longer blue and now looks like a satin finish, and has lost the grooves on the face from milling.
It occasionally is left at home for a fling with with a bright new shiny lovely, but these are always short lived affairs.
A 5 wood made by that most sought after club maker 'Memphis'. Bought as part of a starter set from that esteemed retailer TJ Hughes for £89 in 2003.
Mind the £89 also covered a full set of irons, a driver, a 3 wood, a rescue club, a bag, a trolley, an umbrella, a pair of golf shoes, two boxes of golf balls, a pack of tees, a towel and a sun hat.
It's knackered beyond sight. Has scuff marks and dents. But when I hit it, more often than not, it flies like a dream and goes a country mile! I'll never give it up:D

Nothing is sacred in my bag :D
I thought it was the two ball i recently sold - but no :)
I thought it was my macgregors 1025cm's - but last night i hit my mates nike pro combos far better than i hit my clubs....
Thought it was my first driver, my r7 10.5ht Reg...then i hit the r7 460 with a stiff shaft and it was bye bye
I then thought it was my r7460...but i hit choppers 905R......
I could go on, but you get the point..... :D

The only thing sacred in my bag is my 50* wedge, its only been there about 4 yrs but is like a trusted friend now. Everything else could go tommorrow (finances permitting:p )

TM Dual Rescue 16*.
Its been my "go to" club for the last year.
Tee shots on tricky Par 4's, and long Par 3's, out of light rough, and I use it as a 3 wood off fairway as I don't carry one, finally I do half my chips with it.
Trouble is occassionally it misbehaves for a week or two. Normally I would throw such a club in the naughty room for a period of re-orientation, but just can't do without it, so persevere with it, sometimes disastrously!

Not been playing long enough to have a permanent fixture in the bag, although, it would take something extra special to replace the Ping G5 Driver. Had it for about a year and have bought, tried, then sold 5 other " Premium " drivers since.
Everything else is as changeable as the weather, but the irons look like being " keepers " ( for the time being anyway )

I used to have a magic 8 iron.
It was a graphite shafted NorthWestern club that I bought from Olympus Sports for about £12.
It was incredible. It was like having a whole set in one stick. I remember hitting the green in one on 175 yard Par 3s with it. It was great for chipping and punch shots, hell... it would have probably given me a great BJ if I'd asked it nicely.
I have no idea what I did with it. It's probably hiding out with the bunny rabbits wherever it is that magicians keep them.

My Carbite DC Series putter. Had it nearly two years, so since I started basically.
Had it cut down to 33" from 35" and regripped with a blue Golf Pride putter grip and it's brilliant.

Twisting the title slightly.....
My first driver - denty. Has a wee dent in toe, but you can't see from address. However being regular shafted is no longer to my taste. But she's a fine machine and capable for 230 yards. She lives unloved in my garage :( Its a sad tale.
