Has anyone been there? Me and a couple of mates are organising our annual golf trip for next April. We hope to get a good deal for our accomodation and will be staying at Castro Marim in the Eatern Algarve just on the Portuguese side of the border.

We will play at Castro (played there this year and interesting is the word to describe it) plus another couple in Portugal but were thinking about nipping over to Spain to play at Islantilla or El Rompido. Any thoughts on those courses would be much appreciated as would any better suggestions for the area.

Thanks

Played both courses at El Rompido a number of times... They're excellent... I preferred the North course, but I would say they were both worth a go...

Cheers for that - the North course will go on the list to be played. I was not sure which was best. This may be a stupid question but are the 2 courses close together and do you think that both courses could be played in one day.

There's about a 5 minute drive on a buggy from the clubhouse to the North course 1st tee, and the South course 1st tee is right next to the clubhouse. There's a couple of awesome par 5s on both courses. South course is a great parkland course, but the North has more of a links feel to it... Both awesome courses and you can definately play them both in a day... I also remember the greens on the South course (Not so much on the North cause they're newer) being SUPER FAST...
