Great clubs that were ahead of their time! I regret selling my old set (for peanuts  ) as they were a benchmark of a club! The worlds biggest selling irons of all time, with people still using them to this day, to great effect..... over twenty years after their launch!
I wonder if they`ll ever be another set of irons that`ll have such an impact on the golfing world?..just wanted to sing the praises of the Eye II`s....can you still buy them brand new???? ..because not that long ago a Professional I knew said you can still buy them from Ping!!! Not sure whether they`re refurbished or `new` Pings!
This might sound daft and I've got no time to research but I'm sure there is a Ping Preowned website and I'm sure it's Callaway Preowned that run it.

CBC - I don't think that you can buy new sets anymore, but you can order replacement irons if you have an existing set. So if you buy a set (or even a couple of clubs) off of ebay then you might be able to fill in any gaps.
Having said that though, you can pick up a full set off ebay in great condition for around £200, and BeCu for £250. They're definitely not going to depreciate in value in the next couple of years, and the BeCu's should actually go up in value.

I still have a set of Ping Eye II's. They are not the original ones as they had the illegal square grooves. Ping replaced the originals with some legal clubs for a small fee - something like £17 per club.
Just had a debate with Mr I about getting a glass case to display them in :D

apparently you can get brand new heads from Ping's WRX department, at quite high cost!
i just sold my becu's and am starting to regret it, but I still have a becu SW i'm not going to ever get rid of.
nickel ISI is my dream ping set but finding them in lefty is nigh on impossible :(
Call me a traditionalist - but 2 makes of clubs that just don't suit my eye are pings and callaway.
I know that they are more forgiving, but all I seem to do anytime I've tried them is hit them in the sky!
Give me a nice set of mizuno or titleist blades anytime.

I still have an Eye 2 number 1 iron in the loft. I've not used it for a while but it was a great club. My Dad still plays a full set of Eye2s. They certainly were ahead of their time and sparked lots of copy cats.

.....I`m a Ping man once again! :)
I picked up a putter that I`d purchased from MacBludgen today, and on the way home popped into the Amercian Golf centre! I wanted to hit the Ping i5`s but they didn`t have any available...apart from a demo 6 iron!
Anyhow, I had a hit with it, and whilst there I got `colour-coded` (kind of difficult for a chameleon.... ) the result being that I was labelled as a black dot! . Whilst there I noticed a used set of Ping I3 blades, sitting in the racking. I had a good look (and hit with them) and they felt and looked similar to the Ping i5`s, apart from the plastic bits/colouring they glue/paint on! So end product is, that I bought the I3`s on the spot...then took them up the range, and it was like meeting an ole friend again :) (as I played Pings for several years, beforehand).
Now I`ve just got to get out there...and play 18 holes, refocused, re-armed, and ready to rock`n`roll...with my bad-boy-I-got-my-Pings-let`s-play-fighting-face-on .......->
CBC .... (Currently sponsored by Dunlop, Titleist, Odyssey, Ram, and Ping.......all in one bag -> )

A good purchase there! Ping clubs will never die! Is this the second phase of 'modernising the bag?

Might not want to look at my WITB (http://www.moongolfer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=891) then!

I5's are ok, just hate the look of G2 and G5.
Tried the I5's and X Tours, but prefer MP-60's.

....sort of ! The Ping I5`s and I3`s aren`t worlds apart when you hit them and look at the shape of them. I`ve used the I3`s before, so I`m comfortable with them. Although I must say, how Ping can call them `blades` is beyond me  , as I`ve been playing blades for some time and the I3`s are certainly not blade-like at all imo!
