i have allways been fairly consistent with my game...in that i hook my irons the same every time :)
with driver its been my most dependable club, long and pretty straight...till now
i have developed a slice.......a horrid slice..
i cant see anything thats changed just the fact the club still comes from inside but with the face well open.
i am begining to wonder if i'm just not loading the graf blue up like i used to. as i am trying to hit the ball with better tempo instead of my usual smash
also. i'm off up the range tonite. do i take the driver and work on it or leave it home and use 3 wood for a few outings in the hope i forget whats worked into my swing?

I'd leave it at home, or take it and just hit say the last 10 balls with it. Personally I find a spell in the naughty cupboard tends to work a treat, especially with putters!
After your advice on my swing, are you sure your alignment hasn't affected your swing? Maybe pulling back your right leg might promote a bit of a draw and straighten you out?
If all else fails- post a swing video- seems a bit of good fun.
Let us know how you get on.

not sure its alignment mate........i have been swinging it in the garden like a fairwar wood and the marks along the sole are way open and divot (very shallow:) ) are all from inside
i think i am letting it mess with my mind

Then maybe that suggests you are leaving the face open. When I had lessons I was told the following:
On the range, (regardless of shot shape) to correct in this case a slice, step up and hit the biggest hook you can manage, first couple will more often that not go straight, then hit a couple of big slices, get a feeling for the difference, then try and hit it straight. It's an odd approach, but it worked for me.
On the course, (from what you have written, this might help), it sounds like your angle of attack is ok so possibly your timing is out. Therefore try getting your hands/ arms through the ball quicker. The opposite of this is if you are hooking try and swing your body faster and your arms a little slower.
Finally, I find looking up too soon causes a slice (always a problem if you don't know where the ball is going as you want to look). However kepping your head down a little longer and really extening your arms and throwing the clubhead down the target line helps you to complete your swing and get through the ball a little better.
These work for me, although probably take a little practice.

ahh at last something that rings a bell
i have noticed that with my irons i get through with my hips lateraly and this brings rain :)
but with the big stick i am very static and perhaps this is leading to my timing to be way out........as my weigh doent transfer to the left till the club has gone to the finished postion
cheers.......................gonna take it to the range and get my hips through like i do with irons :)

I certainly find the hips/arms timing is the greatest source of a slice, it's hard to get it just right, but when it works, it really works.
