Right someone has it and I want it back!
My swing was last seen on 6th November though that was only a partial sighting. Its last true appearance was October 28th. In that round I peppered the flag with my short and mid irons. Long irons went far and true.
Yesterday at the Arden I just couldn't swing for toffee. There was no feel there at all. I thinned some. I took cavernous divots hitting some fat as well. I didn't really have a problem in terms of hooks/slices - they mostly went straight in the general correct direction - just not in the manner that was intended! Without getting too technical - I just didn't seem to have the right 'depth' to my swing. In the wet conditions on a top course I couldn't really take proper practice swings as I felt the eyes of the world watching me hack chunks out of the turf in the process! During the whole round I probably only hit a handful of good iron shots (and they tended to be at the start of the round).
Anyone have any ideas what's causing this? My game all year has been based on good iron play. Long and straight when needed. It's bizarre but only my putting kept me in it yesterday. That and the fantastic Titleist driver I'm blessed to own.
My last two bad rounds have coincided with me carrying a bag for the first time. Could that be it? I've not felt physically tired at all but it's a thought I guess. I'm ruling out my driver as I swing it very naturally with this and also I hit a great round first out last month. I'm hoping it's just the wet conditions!
Does anyone have any practice drills whilst out on the course to correct themselves? As a 'feel' gofler it just went to pot for me. :frown: :confusedw:
