Have always thought of myself as a competent putter, but I have quite a collection of putters in my garage. Went round in 93 yesterday morning and it could have so easily been 83 had I not missed a hatful of putts (even one from 12 inches). So, I went out and bought another putter in the afternoon. Is there anyone out there like me or do you still use the putter you have had for yonks?

i think I've had my current putter for the best part of three years now.

I've buggered about with it a bit...cut two inches off the length, had its lie angle bent by a couple of degrees flat, filled the shaft with sand.

suits me and my putting set up...had a putting lesson the other week and am as confident as ever on the greens.

Sounds familiar,

I alos have a fair collection of putters and after years of torment on the greens I've decided to stick to my 'go to', an old scotty newport. The rest will be on ebay soon....

you are clearly not alone
I had the same £10 putter for about 15 years, then went mad with them. I just can't decide on the correct putter for me. I have bought about 7 in the last 6 months. The one that will be arriving this week will be my final purchase...... I think

I had someone offer me £130 for my yes callie and it wasn't sold, so i guess even though i have quite a large collection i know what works and to stick with it. Not to say that i'm a good putter, but i understand i need to work at it.

Take a read of Nick's thread on his putter fitting experience and if you can stand the 'science', two of my threads on dominant eye and putter offset, if you want to try a different approach to purchasing putters.

I collect Scotty Camerons. I putted really well with a Newport but got hold of a couple of JAT Prototypes. I have been using one of them and putt horribly with it. I only use it so I can putt with a Prototype. How vain is that! I guess I dont have a great ambiton to putt well but merely to enjoy my days out. We all get our little pleasures from golf I guess, even if they are sad!
