Does anyone know of any golf trousers which are like normal golf trousers but have a waterproof/resistant/repellant bit near the ankles?
I spend quite a bit of time in the long grass in my rounds so was wondering if there was a pair of trousers out there which were designed for the more 'adventurous' golfer.

If these are the ones I think they are then they should be ideal for you:
PING Vista Troos (http://www.golf-online.biz/proddetail.asp?c=CLPIVISTA)
I think they are really soft like regular trousers, but are water repellant.

The Adidas trousers look to be just what you need, cant recall the model of them. Look like normal chino type trousers but have teflon. Guy I was playing with in 9 holes of horizontal rain had a pair on, no waterproofs and the water just ran straight off them. Been looking for them but cant seem to find them locally.

PH - too much combats or not golfy enough if that makes sense? But i won't start the whole dress code discussion here :D Although i have a mate who plays in pretty much trousers like that
The spats aren't that bad an idea, but i'm pretty sure they would be used once and then never used again just because of the faffing etc. Plus 20quid is pretty steep!
Creo - will have a look for the adidas ones.
I remember somebody mentioned M&S teflon trousers somewhere (BSG or GN), so may give them a look too.
Eitherway I'll probably have to do the unthinkable and actually go into a shop!! :)

I'm wearing a pair of GTC waterproof trousers I bought on ebay (played this morning and started watching the ryder cup before changing  ). They are ptfe coated and great in the wet include damp grass.

Footjoy do a pair of trousers in black that are fully waterproof and look like normal trousers unless looked at very closely. Available form Nevada Bob's at £100 but if you visit Uddingston Driving Range they sell them for £75. Great buy.

If you're not too bothered about your street cred M&S do teflon coated Chinos for about £25. I have a pair which I haven't worn when its been really wet but when I was in the long stuff, water just lay as droplets on the surface of the trousers and brushed away without the material getting wet.

"Snazzy" - A sure fire adjective to deter anyone buying the item in question.
