Well....is it really only 10 months since I last did a WITB?????
How times fly and how things change!!!!!
Driver: Still got the r7 CGB max but after a visit to Niceshot the stock TM shaft was replaced with a stiff Speeder 553. The almost metallic blue shaft nicely complements the deep red club head. It also goes nice and straight as well!!!
Fairway wood: after much tinkering throughout 2008 I've now settled on a Ping G10 17* 4-wood with the stock stiff shaft...lovely look at address and a great feeling at impact. Wonderfully easy to use off a tight lie or off a low tee peg.
Rescue: Only last weekend the Rapture 21* hybrid was ousted by a G10 hybrid of the same loft...again in the stiff stock Ping shaft. The stiff in the G10 has just tightened up my dispersion over the Rapture which was becoming a tad unpredictable in recent weeks. Same wonderful feeling as the G10 fairway wood.
Irons: Titleist ZB forged with Dynamic Gold High Launch S300 shafts, 1 degree upright. After three years of tinkering in my garage I finally forced myself to go and get custom fitted for a set of irons. Was a very enjoyable day up at Brampton Park and these irons are simply superb in every respect. I now carry and hit the 4 iron wheras previously I'd had two rescues to replace the 3 and 4 irons.
Wedges: Vega RAFW-05 in Gold finish. 52/8, 56/12 and 60/6 loft and bounce. My old Clevelands had become battered and bruised and were due for replacement. Once I'd spotted these beauties there was simply no alternative to be considered. Shafted with Rifle Spinner 5.5's. As buttery soft as you could ever wish a wedge to be....even more so than the old Cleveland 900BRZ's.
Putter: Dave Hicks iXi mallet. 31.5" 67* lie angle. Even this though hasnt managed to escape some tinkering. 40g of tungsten powder down the shaft and a 100g counterweight in the butt has increased the overall mass of this putter to around 660g. Pig ugly but holes putts.
Of course you couldnt have a WITB thread without a bag could you??? I've pensioned off the Callaway and my sticks are now housed in a Sun Mountain C-130.
