The Hickory Open

I saw a tournament advertised and everyone who enters uses hickory shafted clubs.
Many wear the old clothes as well.
This really appeals to me and i will be experimenting with hickory clubs with a view to entering.
Anyone tried it or got any opinions on it?

I like the idea of playing with old school clubs.

but i think it would prove to be very difficult at my level :)
