Has anyone ever been to AGT in St. Andrews for custom fitting?

Can you take your current clubs and get them to adjust them for you or do they only do fitting on clubs that they then sell you? If they will fit your current clubs does anyon know how much it costs and how good they are?

Cheers!

I went to see Ed last year, you just take your own gear and depending on what service you choose what you'll/he'll do for you.

There are a couple of different services you can choose..
*1 - 1 hour launch monitor session where he had me on 2 different launch monitors (a vector and a golf achiever LM) but he's got the new Trackman system which is the 50K Doplar radar system which the BBC used during the Open.
*2 - Tour Van gold which is a 3 hour session using the above launch monitor setup and he goes through your bag checking Loft andn Lie for all your clubs and adjusts any that need doing, you get a print out of everything for your own records for future use.

I'll be going for a TVG session soon

Ed's a top guy and I ended up with him for over 3 hours just chatting about club making and stuff and he even bent 2 of my wedges and wouldn't take any money for doing in!

I can't tell from their website whether these costs are included/offset against new purchases.

Thanks for the info.

I like the sound of the TVG and £80 seems quite reasonable for 3 hours with the launch monitor etc.

I'm not in the market for new irons now, I just wanted to check that what I've got are suited to me. However, I really like the look of the KZG stuff they sell and would definitely consider them for my next set - a guy at my club got a set a couple of years ago and raves about them

Hi
Just out of interest, through my subscription to Bunkered magazine I also get copies of the Scottish edition of Club Golfer. In todays issue there's a £10 off voucher for a blast on the Trackman system at AGT.
As I'm dreary, wet Mid Wales if anyone wants this voucher let me know & I can whack it in the post to you.
Cheers

Went to AGT yesterday for a session and was very impressed. Was hoping to get fitted for a set of kzg(wow clubs) but my clubs were fitted just fine. pity was hoping to tell the wife that they were no bloody use.No clock watching was there with a friend for 2 1/2 hours. The driver fitting was excellent trying all the different shafts sheer heaven for my friend seeing all his stats on the screen. These guys are real boffins and if you have never been WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU WAITING FOR.:D .Tried the weight fitting on the butt of driver to see the difference. It was £55 for an hour but i got it for £40 cos my own clubs gave the best reading.Checked the lie of my clubs as well just to see the real set up :) .This guys is the real heaven on earth just to see these guys in action you have to go.Learned more about golf and the ball than i thought was possible.:) :) :) :) :)

Should say my driver speed was 99MPH av (though it was the worst i have ever hit the ball for years)and the 6 iron speed was 85mph av.Dont want to say that some of my drives were so f***ing bad they actually left the area measured:eek: ..Was impressed with the hit factor reading and also the launch spin.I left with a few things to work on.The guy told me to get some driver lessons and come back for another fitting as it was soooooo bad it would be impossible to get an exact fitting. .(his actually words were we dont have anything that would fit your swing and i use the term swing in its broadest terms:biggrin: )

Forgot to say that these costs are offset against purchases(and no sales pitch AT ALL).If you go to your local ping/callaway dealer and want to get fitted you'll get sent here free of charge:) .
