This is the RG 10k / 6 mile summer challenge.

What you need to do:

1. Get in your car and drive away from your house for 3 miles.
2. Note a landmark or feature like a lamppost or something.
3. Run from your house to that post and back again, wearing a monitor preferably to ensure you don't hurt yourself;
4. Record your time here.
5. Don't forget to slap the post when you reach it. It's a ritualistic action which will make you feel good.
6. Record your times here (and maybe your weight at the start and end of the season in September).
7. Repeat at least once a week.

How do you find your fat/water content???

I take it it must be some sort of electronic device that zaps your body with electricity and measures resistance and does some sort of calculation?

What are reasonable fat and water levels?

yeah - new scales acquired by her indoors. A "normal" man should be 15-18% fat: http://www.nutribase.com/pbodyfat.shtml for example :(

after 2 weeks of golf, cycling, and running, I have an elevated weight, BMI and fat content!!!! :mad::mad:

Weight 84.6kg
BMI 26.5
Fat 26.1%
Water 54.9%

I'm going to start adding some dietary restrictions:
- no snacks or eating between meals;
- nothing with more than 4g saturated fat per 100g

I'll report back in another 2 weeks.
